2. How long have you been doing CrossFit (and at TBL)? What class(es) do you normally attend?
First time ever doing CrossFit, I joined TBL in September 2017 and love every second. I do the CrossFit AM classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Bootcamp on Tuesday and Thursday. I try to make weekends when I can.
3. What’s your why? Why did you start? Why do you stay?
I started because I was ready for the next step. More challenging workouts, wanted to gain more strength, accomplish more athletic ability. Always admired CrossFit athletes, I wasn’t sure if I was ready and if I could do it. I stay because (LOVE my 6AM crew!) I realize with the help of amazing trainers/community, I could accomplish these hurdles I never thought I could do. I’ve seen changes in my body and myself that I love, and I’m completely obsessed and addicted.
4. What does a typical day look like for you? In and outside of the gym!
My typical day starts with 6am CrossFit workout and or bootcamp depending on the day. Come home, get ready for and rush off to work in Hartford. Come home from work try and cook some kind of dinner and will log back onto work.
5. What do you enjoy most about Silk City Fit? Favorite/least favorite movement?
I love our TBL family

6. After a hard workout, what is your favorite meal?
My favorite meal after my workout is a protein shake on the way home. When I get to work, I have an egg white burrito with veggies, turkey sausage, tomatoes and cheese. Would actually prefer some potato puff French fries I see being served in the cafeteria at work!
7. What is one goal you are currently working on?
My goals ….. so many
I would love to just get one pull up strict or chest to bar. To promise to push myself every day I am here and give it my all.
8. What is one tip you would give to incoming/new members?
Never be intimated and never get discouraged. It all takes time, but with the help and encouragement from the coaches, you get there faster then you think. I never thought I would be able to do half the movements I can do now. There is always going to be highs and lows where you want to give up. But the accomplishments will be amazing as they come!
9. What accomplishment are you most proud of (inside and outside of the gym)?
I am most proud of coming every morning (mostly) and doing my best. I am proud I have come so far from when I first started and confronted my fears with some of the movements. CrossFit has changed my life in so many ways….. pushed me beyond my limits and met some amazing people. Thank you to all the coaches for all of your help and pushing me each and every day!! Lots of love to my 6 am crew!
